Lesson plan for the CPR and AED skills.

This is my lesson plan for the CPR and AED class.

Goal: At the end of this lesson, students will be able to perform CPR and AED procedures. Students will show clear understanding of acquiring these skills of how to systemically respond to a collapsed victim when they have another rescuer, a mouthpiece, and an AED available.

Content standard:
Health Education Content Standards
 7.4.S Practice emergency procedures.
 5.1.S Use a decision-making process determine a safe course of action in risky situations.

Lesson plan:
1.Students will watch an instructional DVD to learn how to cope with a collapsed victim and do CPR and AED. This activity will give students a general idea about how to treat a victim.

2. The teacher will give an instruction on the warnings of using AED.

3.The teacher will demonstrate how to perform CPR and AED using a manikin. Then, the teacher will give a small group instruction about how to use the AED and how to put their hands together, how much force they have to use, and which direction they have to exert their force on the manikin while having the student demonstrate CPR and AED.

4.Students will make a team to practice two person CPR and AED.

5.Each team will demonstrate the two person CPR and AED skills on a manikin in front of class.
